Fishing Opportunities at Hunters Creek Club

Many people belong to Hunters Creek Club just for the great fishing.

Bring the entire family for a relaxing couple of hours of fishing, or gather a couple dozen of your pals for a bass fishing tournament and dinner.

The spring of 2004 marked the second year of an intensive bluegill feeding program. The goal was to increase the size of the panfish, particularly the bluegills, in the lake. Three ring feeders were placed at strategic points in the lake and have been diligently feeding the fish ever since. Since 2005 we've been seeing an increase in bluegill size. Surprisingly, there are quite a few bass hitting the feed as well.

Our 60-acre lake features:

• Large quantities of naturally produced bass, pike, bluegill, and crappie.
• Quiet fishing. Electric motors only.
• Roomy, stable flat-bottom boats and electric motors are available for rent.

Other fishing opportunities include:

• Trout fishing in our chain of ponds, filled with rainbow trout.
• Access to the Flint River, a pike, smallmouth bass and trout stream.
• Periodic fly-casting and fly-tying seminars.
• Ice fishing in heated shanties.

Fishermen have experienced excellent catches in terms of the quantity of fish landed for bass and bluegill. This year, through feeding, we hope to maintain quantity with increased size. The other nice thing about the lake is the prohibition of gas motors. The electric-only environment guarantees a serene fishing spot for you and your guests.

Trout fishing is also available in our spring-fed ponds as well as in the Flint River.
